Band Camp

On November 1 and second, the grade 7  and 8 band students went to Camp Assiniboia for band camp. While there, students got the opportunity to work with amazing guest conductors Ms. Ferguson and Mr. Gill from CPET. The students worked in sectionals with professionals on their instruments. Later, they had the choice to go on a wagon ride, play floor hockey, or play board games. After having fun with the night’s activities, the students gathered in the main lodge and enjoyed cinnamon buns and hot chocolate while watching Pixels. After a good day, the students started off an even better one with a pancake breakfast. The students got to play fun games like giant Dutch Blitz, archery, Gagaball , and team-building exercises while hanging out with the wandering cat,Thomas.  The band students had the chance to work the outstanding guest conductor, Mr. Kristjanson. It was a very fun and amazing experience at Camp Assiniboia. All the band students would like to give a huge “Thank you !”  to Mme. Nowostawski for arranging this trip.
